Scion Aviation was founded in 1994 by our CEO, Jim, whose vision was to redefine quality in composite manufacturing. With more than 30 years of hands-on experience, he has built Scion into a trusted partner known for innovation, reliability, and craftsmanship. Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial OfficerServing as Scion Aviation’s Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and majority owner, Betsy has been a driving force behind the company’s growth and success since joining in 2001 and becoming an owner in 2005. As CFO, she ensures the company’s financial health and guides strategic growth through thoughtful planning and long-term vision. As COO, she leads operational excellence and customer satisfaction, building a team culture grounded in accuracy, transparency, integrity, and exceptional service. Her leadership fosters accountability and innovation, ensuring Scion continues to deliver superior results and trusted partnerships across the aerospace industry.

Director of OperationsDave has been with Scion Aviation since 2006 and oversees Quality and Production Management. With a disciplined attention to detail and a steady, process-driven approach, he helps ensure every job is executed in alignment with quality standards and customer requirements. Dave plays a key role in maintaining compliance across day-to-day operations, supporting continuous improvement, and reinforcing the consistency and accountability Scion is known for.

Lead Engineer
Serving as Scion Aviation’s Lead Engineer, Alexander brings a strong mechanical engineering foundation from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) and a hands-on, execution-driven approach to every program. He joined Scion as a Mechanical Engineer and stepped into the Lead Engineer role within his first year—now in his third year with the company. Alexander takes programs from first concept to final production, translating customer goals into CAD-driven models for fixed-wing aircraft, helicopters, and drones. He oversees development, drives continuous quality improvements, and coordinates tooling and component assemblies to keep programs moving efficiently, accurately, and on spec.
